Liz lives in Boca Raton, Florida, and leads Burger King’s technology team throughout North America, developing things like Burger King’s mobile app and delivery program. When she’s not at Burger King’s Miami office or traveling around the country for work, she keeps it busy with her tight knit group of friends and family. Liz is the ultimate inspiration and motivator—if she can make time to meal prep and work out 6(!) times a week, well eff, we can too.

You commute 1 hour(!) to work every morning.  How do you squeeze in breakfast?

I keep my mornings simple and quick...warm water with lemon and black tea. Amazingly, I’m an ex-coffee addict who used to have 2 shots of espresso and a creamy iced coffee all before 9 am! When I get to work, I eat either eggs/avocado (The “Liz”) or yogurt with berries!

What time do you work out during the week? How often?

The earlier the better…I aim to be working out by 6am and in the shower by 7am, but sometimes (a lot) I snooze too long and have to do a quick 20 minute workout. I try to work out 6 days a week…only off on Mondays when I can’t bare to wake up!

You’re a newish runner. How’d you get into running?

We started ah.mi with the commitment of working out 3x per week. I already did that, so decided my challenge would be to commit to 3x per week of running.

When you run, how many miles do you run to feel like you got a really good workout in?

It depends on how much time I have, but at least 3 miles, and I like to hit 6 miles.

When you started running, how many miles did you do? How the eff did you work up to running 8 miles on the reg?

It’s always a challenge at the beginning of my runs, but once I pass the 2 mile mark, I get out of my head and start enjoying the run. Don’t let anyone fool you…it’s hard for everyone!

Part of your job is a lot of work dinners. How do you stay healthy eating out so much? Any go-to orders when you are out?

I stick to a filet (or salmon if it’s a double dinner week), and try to ignore all the amazing sides and desserts. Also, ah.mi has me drinking vodka soda instead of wine, making my dinners a little more entertaining.

Do you cook during the week? If so, what?

I always made exceptions for my eating because I never pre-planned my meals. Now I stay inspired by my group and don’t want to be the one always cheating!

Do you feel like eating healthy and exercising makes you more productive and energized?

Working out sets me up for success for the rest of the day—it helps me focus on my priorities and not get lost in the noise. I also just love texting my ah.mi group after to see who else is up early getting it done…we have a friendly competition on who can hit their work out goals for the week!

Do you think there's a reason why most super successful people prioritize eating healthy and being active?

Life isn’t easy for anyone, prioritizing working out and eating well is a simple way to get your life into a more positive space and allow yourself to come first.

What’s been the most surprising part of your ah.mi journey?

I love getting to experience what’s happening with my group outside our normal weekend parties and social media postings. It’s nice to get a glimpse into their day-to-day lives and laughing through the day!

Bonus Question: You and Rachel are not only sisters, but twins! What’s it like doing ah.mi with a family member?

It’s great to have someone else wanting to eat healthy at a family dinner or go for a workout on a vacation. Besides, now I finally have the secret to how she stays so fit (I always thought we had different genes), so it was an easy choice!
