Brooke
Brooke is a yoga and Fusion FIIT45 teacher at Yoga Joint, a yoga and FIIT (focused intelligent interval training) Studio in South Florida. She’s one of our fave yoga teachers because her classes make us burn for days and she somehow manages to make 6 a.m. classes enjoyable. We were curious what she eats on a daily basis to fuel her busy days of teaching and working out. Read her interview below, and if you’re in the South Florida area, def take one of her classes—it burns so good!
Do you have any restrictions on what you eat?
I don’t restrict myself to any particular dietary theory. In the past, I followed a strict plant-based diet for 2 years, and ultimately felt unsatisfied as it impacted more than the food on my plate. For example, I had to prepare meals to eat prior to going out to dinner with friends so it wouldn’t break the dietary rules, and it felt too restrictive. Now I practice more intuitive eating habits and enjoy each meal I have, whether it’s nutrient dense, or an indulgence.
What is your go-to healthy lunch?
I sometimes follow intermittent fasting guidelines, so I may setback my first meal of the day until 1 p.m. Either way, the first meal I have daily is usually a nutrient-dense green superfood smoothie.

What do you normally snack on throughout the day?
I wouldn’t consider myself a snacker, but if I need something to hold me over in between teaching or taking classes, I will usually have a FROPRO protein bar.
When you eat out, are there any staples you always order?
I usually try to balance out my meals around macronutrients: protein, fat, and carbs. I also try to add fiber whenever possible: chicken, avocado, spinach, seeds, nuts, or legumes of some sort.
What's your favorite healthy(ish) restaurant and go-to order there?
I usually go to Raw Jüce in between my classes, and I’ll order their Cacao Protein Crunch Acai Bowl. I make many modifications to reduce the sugar content: no honey, no cacao nibs. I also replace their protein powder with hemp seeds and extra chopped almonds to balance out the sugar with healthy fats. I always choose a base of coconut water for hydration.
What’s your Starbucks/coffee shop order?
I didn’t start drinking any coffee until about 6 months ago. I will get a coffee with a bit of non-dairy milk; my favorite is macadamia milk and no sweeteners.
Cocktails, wine, or neither? What’s your drink of choice?
My drink of choice is a pinot noir, and my go-to is Meiomi. I also enjoy spicy tequila drinks and a light beer whenever the time is right.
What’s your fave cookbook, website, or Instagram account for food inspo?
Oh She Glows and Nutrition Stripped are two of my favorite websites to get recipes from.
