Steph Gee is one of the three sisters and their glamorous mom that together make up the brand GEE Beauty. We look to Steph for all things healthy food, fitness, fashion, and beauty. In this IG live recap, Steph discusses her health journey and how she started on her healthy path, manifestation in practice, and her favorite healthy things.

Background: 

In January 2021, Steph had a revelation that she wanted to get healthy. She had always measured how she felt based on the fit of her clothes and when her baggy jeans felt tight, she knew something needed to change. She was out of tune with what her body needed and wanted to regain control of how her body both looked and felt. 

First Steps:

Steph began trying to manifest. She had watched a video that described the concept of manifestation, explaining that what we think is what our reality becomes. From there, she began putting post-it notes on her bathroom mirror that described the way she wanted to look and feel by certain months. 

She soon discovered Dietician Nutritionist and Health Consultant Illana Mulstein and fell in love with her program, “2B Mindset.” The 2B Mindset is a positive approach to weight loss in which you can eat a lot, be in control of your eating, and lose weight at the same time.

Slow, but Sustainable.

The weight-loss process has been slow for Steph, but she knows that it is sustainable. “You don’t wake up motivated,” Steph told us. You become motivated when you start seeing results.” Routine and habit help keep Steph grounded and present. Throughout her whole journey, she has never skipped a meal out or deprived herself of the pleasure of food. This is why the process is sustainable. When feeling frustrated about her health journey, she will remind herself that everything good in her life has taken time. Her current favorite go-to healthy recipe are these super simple broccoli bites.

Mental Health and Walking:

Steph explained that not feeling good in her body can be extremely detrimental to her mental health. She has found that walking 10,000 steps per day improves her mental clarity and happiness. “It launched creativity in me again and while walking, I am able to solve problems to things I didn’t even realize were a problem beforehand,” she explained. She has also found walking to be great for her digestion and sleep. Two quick tips Steph recommends for those attempting to complete 10,000 steps daily is to complete the first 5,000 before 10 a.m. and to take walks while on calls, rather than sit.
