ah.mi's Black Bean Burger

Makes 4 servings

 
 

To Get:

  • 1 can black beans

  • 1/4 cup chopped white or yellow onion

  • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper

  • 1/4 cup chopped tomato

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 cup panko

  • 1 Tbsp ketchup

  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire

  • 1 egg

  • Salt & pepper

To Do: 

  1. Drain and rinse black beans

  2. Preheat oven to 375 and bake black beans on a sheet pan for about 15 minutes (to dry out)

  3. Add chopped veggies to a food processor for a few pulses and set aside in a bowl

  4. Let beans cool and add to food processor for a few pulses (leave a little chunky)

  5. Add beans to the bowl with the veggies along with the seasonings, panko, ketchup, worcestershire, and eggs

  6. Mash together with hands

  7. Form into 4 patties and place on a greased pan

  8. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes on each side

  • Let burgers cool for about 10 minutes to keep from breaking apart

  • Serve over a bed of greens or wrapped in lettuce

  • Optional: add a bun and any toppings you wish
